Hedi Slimane “I LOVE USA” Fashion Film

13 Oct

Hedi Slimane "I LOVE USA" (filmed in April 2010 - Los Angeles, CA)

Former Dior designer Hedi Slimane is still around! He has just released a short film that he did with TheCorner.com on their second film for their series entitled “I Love USA”. In the vide, you can see two teenagers named Sydney and Wolf (discovered both by Slimane at the Coachella 2009 & 2010 festivals) as they go around a beach and also in an studio with the American flag waving while a masked wolf plays the cello.

Thanks to Macha and Charly for letting me know about the video!

Miika Lommi goes vodka

19 May Singapore Fling by Miika Lommi

Singapore Fling by Miika Lommi

I ran into this video (thanks to Álvaro de la Herrán’s Facebook) and I loved it. I have always been a fan of Lommi’s work, especially beacause it’s always very sexual and never afraid of taking it to the next level, regardless any moral limits.

This viral film was made to promote Maximus Vodka in Finland.

Good work!

Performance vs. Acting: Marina Abramović, Klaus Biesenbach and James Franco at MoMA

3 May

I loved this conversation between Marina Abramović, Klaus Biesenbach and James Franco at MoMA about the differences between acting and performance. I really like what James Franco said and it’s very interesting he’s more than a Hollywood star, although I must say I’m not surprised.

Everyone seems to be shocked by these pictures, but it’s not so different from what Tyler Shields delivers to the art scene and he always accomplish success.

Demi Moore sketch by Garance Doré

The incredible blogger Garance Doré made this sketch of Demi Moore for the collector’s edition cover of British Elle. It seems that Harper’s Bazaar Australia is not the only cover that’s using sketch. Let’s see who else catches up with this trend.

PeopleMatter by Nic*Rad @ Rare Gallery (NYC)

PeopleMatter by Nic*Rad (New York City)

Nic*Rad’s media project “PeopleMatter” is comprised of 99 paintings of traditional and new Media personalities exhibited, and then given away to those in attendance at Rare Gallery.

This gift experiment is conducted in response to the impact of technological advances that allow for increased sharing of information and content. The project will survey distorting effects of this transition on emerging and developing ideas.

Subjects were chosen based on personal Googling, Twittering, Hyperlinking, Facebooking, RSS culling and otherwise staggering around the internet and media cyberscape.

Recipients of the work will be encouraged to participate in the on going gift actions of the PeopleMatter community as well as setting the second hand value of  art works as conversation vessel, novelty, or digital and physical barter.

You shouldn’t miss it, I totally loved Nic*Rac’s work and I’m sure you all will too! The show was installed on April 3rd, and can be viewed in total up until April 29th when the work will be given away.

Grace Kelly: Style Icon @ V&A Museum (London)

Grace Kelly: Style Icon - V&A Museum (London)

Grace Kelly: Style Icon, opening April 17, presents a gobsmacking array of the star’s wardrobe from the 1950s through the 1970s.

Divided into three thematic sections, the exhibit charts Princess Kelly’s evolving style, from the studios of Hollywood to the throne of Monaco.  It hones in on the particular items that defined her look: the quintessentially American shirtwaist dresses, the dainty white gloves and pearls, the chiffon columns and fitted bodices.

Every section exudes glamour. “The Actress” focuses on the silver-screen decade of the ’50s, when the Oscar winner starred in classics such as “To Catch a Thief” and “Rear Window.”
